This major Science, while extremely draining to the user, is one of the most powerful disciplines found in psionics, and is what has made the Tanu the most feared psionic-using race in the known multiverse. This discipline is never found in other psionic races, barring divine intervention or magical meddling.

Psi-create allows the psionic to duplicate certain specific magical, druidic, or clerical spell effects by utilizing raw psionic power. The spells which can be duplicated are determined by mastery level, and roughly correspond to level advancement for mages {see sheet}. The discipline creates a psionic duplicate of the desired effect, with all audial, visual, aural and physical components, and directs these at the minds of the intended target{s}. A save versus psionics is allowed, with a success indicating no effects are felt by that individual where applicable, unless the spell normally causes an effect if a save is made.

Where the effect is non-enemy directed, eg. Dig or Lower Water, the discipline actually performs the desired action. Additionally, this discipline also provides what the Tanu call a psi-zap, essentially a bolt of pure psionic power capable of causing damage through a combination of heat, concussion, electricity and raw force. It causes damage at a rate of one d6 per level of mastery, at a range of 1" + 1"/level, and can affect one target for each three levels of mastery attained. A save vs. psionics results in half damage.

Spell effects duplicated allow a save vs. psionics, whether the actual spell allows one or not, and if it is made, no effects are felt, unless otherwise noted. Ranges, etc. are as the actual spell.

The character’s Intelligence rating denotes how many different effects the psionic can learn, so he must choose carefully. Learning a new spell-effect requires the character be physically exposed to its workings. Alternately, a mage or psionic with the skill can teach the spell to the creator wishing to know it, by actually demonstrating it several times.

This list is comprised of the only spells which can be duplicated by the discipline Create. No other known spells can be duplicated. These effects are essentially psionic manifestations with all sense-affecting details broadcast by the attacking psionic. A save indicates that the victim(s) have the strength of will to throw off the effects of that particular attack. Mere knowledge of the attack’s true nature will not immunize a target or affect his save.

The spells selected are basically instantaneous in effect {eg. fireball}, or permanent until redirected {eg. polymorph}, and are not overly complex visually or in effect {such as, for example, blade barrier or creeping doom}. No actual magic forces are being utilized, so dispel magic or similar charms will not defeat this discipline, but neither may demons be ensnared nor prismatic spheres, power words or symbols be created, even if the psionic has once been subjected to these dweomers.
